Work on Work Packages 1 and 2 of the DEPOPLAND project to assess ecological change in depopulating rural landscapes by identifying shrinking and growing rural areas globally, developing and applying spatial-temporal indicators of landscape heterogeneity, and analyzing long-term landscape transformations using diverse geospatial datasets to understand the profound consequences of rural depopulation.
